About two years ago, I was sitting with a woman who is as beloved to my life as they come. We were talking music and I was sharing some of my favorite worship songs. She’d asked if I’d ever listened to Sovereign Grace.Β Sovereign who?
Sovereign Grace. I had never heard their music. I didn’t even know what that meant. But I went home and looked them up. I started listening…and haven’t stopped since. Their music is some of the best worship music I’ve ever listened to. Not only is the artistry phenomenal, the lyrics point directly to the cross and the glory of Christ. Listening to one of their CD’s from start to finish is more than just an album, it’s a full worship experience.
Here are a few of my favorites. I say a few, quite seriously as I adore all of their music and it was almost impossible to pick just a handful. My favorite of all, just may be “My Soul Arise.” It’s here in the mix along with other favorites… each one a treasure to my heart and life.

Β Even though these giveaways are over, there is more to come! Awhile back as I was ordering some more CD’s for future giveaways, I dropped the folks at Sovereign Grace a little note. Just to say thanks and that I was snatching more of their music for you all. And you know what? The lovely people at Sovereign Grace Music, sent me a huge stack of CD’s for future giveaways. I was blessed beyond words and I’m so excited to get to pass that blessing onto you. So tucked in some of the future giveaways around here, you guessed it. More music! I pray that these songs will bless the recipients and a very, very special thank you to Sovereign Grace for their thoughtfulness, generosity and incredible music.Β
While you’re listening, you can check them out on Facebook!
Let’s chat:
I’d love for you to share some of your favorite worship songs!
Well, that was so sweet of them to do that for you. I am sure you will bless a lot of people with the CD. The woman’s voice sounds familiar; I think I’ve heard her sing before. I am lousy with names, group names, etc. I just seem to remember voices and songs. π
Wasn’t that sweet of them, Debbie. And the CD’s are for you guys which is so exciting π Glad that it sounded familiar!
How wonderful for them to do that! Their music truly is a worship experience and you know you are a participant in a time of praise as you listen and sing along. Such a blessing!
I know that you love their music too. It really is such a blessing!
love the music. So uplifting!!! Hope to be a winner in the future.
Blessings

I’m so glad, Diana! And yes, there will be some giveaways in the future! π
Joanne – thanks for introducing us to such a wonderful group! They’re wonderful!
Becky
Becky, thrilled, my friend, that you’ve discovered them! I think they are right up your ally. xo
For me, its the old standards: The Old Rugged Cross, What a Friend We Have in Jesus, Amazing Grace, In The Garden, Beyond The Sunset, etc
Betty, I love the old standards. So many great hymns! You may enjoy “come weary saints” a collection of hymns that are truly, truly beautiful. So glad you are here!
Wow, Joanne – did you hit a nerve (a good one) with this post on worship music! Hate to say it, but listening to my praise & worship music usually ushers me into His presence more quickly than most sermons/church services etc.. Music (singing, playing musical instruments, listening to)is one of the few things I wouldn’t want to live without (on the same list as books, & my bible – of course).
My favorite of the 4 songs you inclued is Hide Away in the Arms of Jesus – my favorite worship music is slow, quiet, music with a lot of harmony (preferably male & female voices together). I will be checking out the collection of hymns you mentioned, as well as the rest of their music.
I appreciate that Sovereign Grace blessed you with the gift of cd’s & even more so – the fact that you were thoughtful & kind enough to start the gift of music to your readers. Thank you so much!
I agree, Bonnie. It’s the one of the few things I wouldn’t want to live without either. π Glad this post fell in line with where your hearts been at with worship. I think you will find an encouraging and uplifting experience with this music. I know it’s blessed me and my family incredibly!
P.S. Forgot to mention some of my favorite Christian artists (& ones that you might enjoy, also) are: The Heritage Singers (top of the list), Damaris Carbaugh, The Collingsworth Family, Judy Jacobs, Vicki Yohe, The Martins, The Talley’s, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir – all very powerful singers.
I will look those up! Thanks so much for sharing!
Yay! Yay! Yay! I had my eye on that “Come Weary Saints” CD that time ~ maybe it will come again! Thanks for your sweet posts. Kathleen ~ Lane Hill House
Oh, Kathleen, I remember that! Yes, there are more copies of “Come Weary Saints” to come. It is such a great CD! π
Joanne, thanks for these encouraging words! Our goal is to produce Christ-exlating songs to sing in and outside the church. Thanks for helping us get the word out.
Bob, you are so welcome! Thank YOU for the wonderful ministry you all do. It’s a blessing to my family and I know to countless others as well. There is a need for this music and I am so thankful to you all for so diligently seeking the Lord as you pour it fourth.
Joanne, that is so cool that Sovereign Grace sent you more CDs to include in your giveaways. Thanks for sharing a few of your favorites on this blog. I’m enjoying them. Blessings!
Wasn’t it? They are such a wonderful ministry. I was so blessed by it and can’t wait to pass it along!
