Joanne has a long-standing passion for romance and a budding fervor for theology. She is more and more awed by how wondrously the two go hand in hand.
A single mother of three, she homeschools her children in the mountains of Southern California where they spend their days learning and growing together. Life is ever an adventure and Joanne is grateful for the way story reflects our real lives: God’s love being present in the difficult times and the sweet moments. And knowing that the stories of our lives that are being written, have a purpose that–just like with the characters in a novel–go above and beyond what we can see.
“We all have ways of bringing offerings to His feet. Words and the telling of story are one of those gifts that I lay down. It is my constant prayer that they honor and please Him.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope to learn a little bit more about you by connecting here!”
A Christy and Carol Award-winning author, Joanne Bischof writes deeply layered fiction that tugs at the reader’s heartstrings. Her novella, This Quiet Sky, broke precedent as the first indie published title to final for the prestigious Christy Awards. To Get to You, released a year later, was the second. Joanne’s historical novel, The Lady and the Lionheart, received an extraordinary 5 Star TOP PICK! from Romantic Times Book Reviews and has now taken to the stage. Her most recent release, The Gold in These Hills (HarperCollins 2021), delves deep into the heart of a legendary ghost town in the California Mountains where Joanne lives with her three children. When she’s not writing or teaching weekly classes, Joanne works on staff at a summer camp where she keeps busy in the 100-year-old kitchen and on occasion, photographing kids having the time of their lives.
